Dato’ Abdul Majid Bin Mohamed was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the Company’s Board of Directors on 13 December 2006. He was then appointed the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, a member of the Audit Committee, a member of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Risk Management Committee on 12 January 2007.
On 16 February 2009, Dato’ Abdul Majid was re-designated as the Chairman of the Nomination Committee.
Prior to joining the Company, he has held various senior ministerial positions and directorships in several private limited companies in Malaysia.
Amongst the positions held were Ambassador of Malaysia to Libya, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ambassador of Malaysia to the United States of America and Deputy Secretary General with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dato’ Abdul Majid does not have any personal interest in any business arrangements involving the Company.
Dato’ Abdul Majid does not have any family relationship with any Director and/or major shareholder of the Company. He also does not have any shareholding in the Company and he has had no convictions for any offences within the past 10 years.
