Dato’ Abdul Majid bin Mohamed was appointed as an Independent
Non-Executive Director to the Company’s Board of Directors on 13
December 2006. He was then appointed the Chairman of the
Remuneration Committee, a member of the Audit Committee, a
member of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Risk
Management Committee on 12 January 2007. Prior to joining the
Company, he has held various senior ministerial positions and
directorships in several private limited companies in Malaysia.
Amongst the positions held were Ambassador of Malaysia to Libya,
Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Korea, Ambassador of
Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Germany, Ambassador of
Malaysia to the United States of America and Deputy Secretary
General with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dato’ Abdul Majid does not have any family relationship with any
other Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company or any
conflict of interest with the Company. Neither has he been
convicted of any offences in the past 10 years.
